Template different color on P.C and laptop

Hi this is odd and hard to explain I use one of the standard templates (ist one on the list) you can see it here http://www.touringandtenting.motime.com/

My problem is on my PC it is a nice green but on my laptop it is a yukky grey, I use Firefox on both machines.

I want everyone to see the right color so what is it Green or Grey?

Also what could cause this difference

Rotating Banner Images

Right above the </head> tag, insert this script:

<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" >
<!--
var logo = new Array() // do not change this

logo[0] = 'http://yourimage1.com/yourimage1'
logo[1] = 'http://yourimage2.com/yourimage2'
logo[2] = 'http://yourimage3.com/yourimage3'
logo[3] = 'http://yourimage4.com/yourimage4'
logo[n] = 'http://yourimagen.com/yourimagen'
//However many images n you want

var j = 0
var p = logo.length;
var preBuffer = new Array()
for (i = 0; i < p; i++){
preBuffer[i] = new Image()
preBuffer[i].src = logo[i]
}

var whichImage = Math.round(Math.random()*(p-1));
function showImage(){
document.write('<img src="'+logo[whichImage]+'"
width="575" height="150" border="0">');
} // adjust dimensions to your preference
//-->
</script>

Now, insert this into your Header division:

<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" >
<!--
showImage();
//-->
</script>

Voila! You've got a banner that changes each time
someone loads your page.

Note: Make sure you enclose the URL's and
parenthesized stuff after document.write
in apostrophes. Make sure the script is
enclosed in comments.

Hello Mr. Missing man AKA Howard! There seems to be something wrong with my template picture. The coffee mug seems to have gone away. What can I do??

bunnyhero

I finally got brave enuf to try embedding a Bunnyhero pet.  It is currently at the bottom of the template - but too far to the left, even tho' it says align center.  I managed to shrink it and would really like to have it on the left, perhaps above the archives - but even shrunken, it forces the main area to drop way down.  Help me, please?

right column shifted to bottom

Hi Howard!

I have a blog (funenglish4kids) with three columns. The right column with the comments, archive, a link to my frappr map, a mobatalk voicemail box and a cbox chat box shifted to the bottom of my blog. I can't figure out why. I went to the template to check the width and the height of those tools I added and I think everything is OK. Why is this happening? Besides, the last tool I added was the chat box and when I did it it was all ok.

One last thing. When I click on comments in the posts, the right column appears in the right place and not on the bottom of the blog. Can you help me?

Thank you very much in advance!

Susie

Changing the colour of the title

Dear Howard
I have managed to swap my template picture with no problem but now the white Ripple title doesnt show against the sky. I have tried changing the colour but nothing happens. \At least nothing bad happened either!
I thought that this should be the right spot but seemingly not
".blogtitle {font: 2em "Lucida Grande", "Trebuchet MS", Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
        padding:0px;
        margin:0px;
        text-align:center;
        color:#OOFFOO;
        background: transparent;
        height: 1.3em;
        border: 0px none #2B4757;
        }"

 Also, what style of colour is it as I can only find Web Colours that refer as FFFFFF rather than EEEEEE for white.
Thanks Frewin

Configuring Template

Howard,

How do I rearrange my blog to where recent comments and archives appear on the right side of my blog and links and about me appear on the left side...?

How can I fill in the gaps of my blog? I want to insert advertisements...etc...

How do I locate what I want where I want it...?   Location. Location. Location....how does it work?

3rd party toys for your template

I've been tooling around visiting various Motimers (let's hear it for Saturday blogging). As I waited for some very slow pages to load, it occurred to me to remind folks that if they want to put *toys* like blogrolling blogrolls, Flickr things, or anything else that comes onto your weblog from a third party, you might want to place those things AFTER your blogger code.

That way your posts will load, and folks can read them, even if your 3rd party content is slow, or the 3rd party websites are down.

Right column placement is ideal for this, btw.

vicki (who at one time, had the slowest loading page on the site)

visitors

Howard, I have been screwing up my template trying to add some new stuff. In the process I made a huge mistake by erasing the  part of the code that deals with visitors. I copied the code from my sister's blog since we have the same codes, but my visitors will not load. It just says  *loading* Homies, and it will never load. Is the following code correct

                                        <div class="boxmenu">
                                        <div class="voicemenu">
                                                    counter

                                        </div>
                                        <center>
                                        <$BlogCounter$> Homies
                                        </center>

                                        </div>

picture for top of blog

Hi Howard

As you may recall, I wanted to put my own picture on the top of my blog.  The one that my daughter adapted for this is the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary pic in my default album.

Is it formated correctly for that and

do I need to choose a different template - one with nothing on top?

Thanks,  Diana

pic for top of template

I now have put the pic that my younger daughter editted, mirrored, etc in my default album.  I'm wondering if I should choose a different template - with no picture at the top.  Also, is this going to be too dark?  She darkened it to increase the contrast, but can probably redo it.  Let me know what I need to do?  Thanks.

Annoying popup content on my page

During my absence, my blog has acquired an annoying popup from il.ilead.it. I had inferred that Motime had instituted this on its Free blogs, but when one of my commenters complained, I had to assume this blight has settled upon my blog alone.

I've searched the code of my page, and the only suspect I found for this deviltry is a Motime-injected code for a Google Analytics "Urchin tracker"script, which apparently adds comment tags referring to Google Ads prefacing each entry.

Is there a way to exile this popup?

Template column width

Howard:         I use the three-column template that's second from the top, right hand column on the template choice page:http://www.motime.com/myblog/template/browse/28549. Is there some way to increase the width of the side columns? The blog matter appears on a background with about as much blank space on either side of the column as there is in the left and right hand template columns. I'd prefer to increase the available width in the side columns,so I could have more links to other blogs, bigger pictures, etc. Stephen
